Hello!

I’m Adele, an Australian artist based in Brisbane specialising in heavily textured abstract expressionist paintings, with a passion for colour and movement.

I’ve always loved having a creative outlet, starting to paint at the age of eight with my Nanna in Far North Queensland. My art career almost didn’t happen though - my high school art teacher failed me in the subject! Let’s just say she didn’t quite appreciate the deconstructed style my clients love today. It took time and travel for me to find the confidence to embrace my creative side again. It was studying fashion at university that saw me pick up a pencil, appreciating through sketching what simple lines could achieve on paper.

Living in vibrant India for six months as part of my studies saw me fall in love with colour and the way it reflected joy across circumstances, something I continue to explore today in all my pieces. Returning home, I dove back into painting and fell in love with the constant exploration this art form takes both the artist and their audience on. I love interpreting light, movement and emotion through layers of expressive strokes and marks, and am obsessed with this creative process.

But most importantly, I love creating beautiful paintings that make people feel at home. And make a house feel like a home. That emotional connection when you look at something and feel at peace, that’s what I aim for. I try not to take life or art too seriously, my paintings are fun to create and I hope the viewer feels this too.

You’ll find my work in galleries including The Moree GalleryToowoomba Gallery, Art to Art, The Modern Furniture Store on James St in Brisbane and in exhibitions across NSW, QLD and the ACT. In 2024 I have been a finalist in The Brisbane Rotary Show, and just recently announced in the National Contemporary Art Prize.

When I’m not working on my art, you’ll find me with my biggest supporters, my wonderful husband Ace and amazing (and busy!) 3 young kids.

If you have any questions on an existing artwork or are interested in a commission please reach out. Art is such a personal thing, and I know how daunting and overwhelming it can be choosing the right piece, I’m here to help and guide you in the process. And make it fun too!

I’m also open to brand collaborations so if you think we’d be a great fit, let’s chat.
